Dawda Ceesay, the player who have experience in playing in India and Outside with many clubs and have a successful career so far. Few days back, in an exclusive interview with Football Hub India, he talked about his experience in India so far, most memorable moments and many more.Read some of the important questions and answers during the interview:
1) You have played for many clubs in different nations Including Saudi Arabia, India, Bangladesh etc... So, which manager you think was the best you played under?
Ans: I learn alot from the coaches that i pass through tarek scouted me from egypt then Paul Putt the Belgian coach very experience saw my potential useful to believe in myself Petr Gigiu at churchill help me improve alot Bernardo was amazing too, from portugal alot of experience i learn now with one of the youngest and best coaches in india Yan Law i love his work ethics.
2) How was your experience playing in I League last season for Churchill Brothers?
Ans: I always give credit to Churchill Brothers sports club they scouted me in Bangladesh i came to India and fall in love with Goa as they show alot of love during my times there Churchill is a team that believe in wining and the boss is always supportive a football lover we always try to make him proud by doing our best all the time as a team it was a good moment in career that i had to push myself everyday but unfortunately did not win the trophy but leave a reputation and showed my quality as a player at my time there so much respect for them.
3) What's your view's and opinions about the structure of Indian Football? Do you think it have a potential to become a top league?
Ans: Yes of course. Football in india grows as all teams believe in the system that European clubs do football is growing. Rapidly now alot of players are stepping up but big teams should be taking good players from I League to ISL too as football with ambition is all about moving forward as the top everybody wants to be part of it.
4) Are you wishing to play in Indian Super League?
Ans: Yes of course teams should consider, it will be my pleasure to compete in ISL as i spend alot of time playing in India and the love of the game i will like to play in ISL will keep improving myself to reach that level of experience too as i play other leagues similar and big.
5) Do you have any unforgettable moment or day in your life? How important was it to you?
Ans: Yes my first season at Churchill Brothers, when the young Indian Arrows stop us from winning doing all efforts to stop us from winning, that game haha cherrs to them lads will never forget that day it was silent at camp.
6) You have scored many goals in India, so among it which one you think is the best?
Ans: Against Mohun Bagan at salt lake scored the first goal and assist a beautiful cross for Willis Plaza, we end up winning 3-0, Amazing.
7) What is the advice that you can give to youngsters who dream of becoming a professional footballer?
Ans: Just to believe in themselves work hard everyday listen to advices and focus on the game, hardwork always pays off. Football is a beautiful game.
8) Who inspired you to become a footballer? How was the support from your family?
Ans: I was known trough football from a young kid in Gambia, my grandfather was obsessed with football he supported me so much spending fortune making sure that i do what i love that's football, went to one of the best football academy in Gambia Gilkock from there to Hawks youth then to have the chance to play National Team U-17 and 20 did well because to reach to that level there must be something special in you will say my family have been very supportive.
9) In which position are you seeing yourselves in the coming 4-5 years?
Ans: 4-5 year,Its football you never know who is watching you as you keep improving fighting you can be at the very top level you will ever dream off with no injuries i think will continue to do my best for myself and my fans. It can be here or other countries as football is a big market no boundaries.
10) Is there any message you want to convey to those fans and supporters out there?
Ans: To the fans who are living with the beautiful game never give up continue the support because if it wasn't for the fans football will be hopeless so keep encouraging us to win together fight together and succeed together as we share the same goals and ambition. I love all my fans who reach out who cant reach out or who did not have the chance to meet ❤.
